STEP 01 // CONNECTING

Your Story Will Be Their Story

A hit begins long before the chorus lands. It starts the moment a listener recognizes something of themselves inside the song. A feeling they’ve had. A place they’ve been. A thought they’ve never quite known how to say out loud. Great songwriting closes the distance between the person telling the story and the person hearing it. The details may belong to you, but the emotion has to belong to everyone. Make that connection and the listener stops hearing your song from the outside—they step inside it. Miss that connection, and even the perfect melody and production have a much harder job ahead.

STEP 02 // SHARE & RELATE

Lead Them to Their Why

The strongest lyrics can come from something deeply personal without ever trapping the listener inside someone else’s story. You share enough truth to make it real, but leave enough room for somebody hearing it to quietly replace your memories with their own. Your heartbreak becomes their heartbreak. Your summer becomes their summer. Your victory, regret, first kiss, last goodbye, or second chance suddenly belongs to them too. That’s when a song becomes personal without the listener even realizing how it happened. They aren’t simply relating to your story anymore—they’ve made the story theirs.

STEP 03 // HOOK DRIVING

Never Let Them Forget

Now drive it home. The hook is the piece the listener carries away when the song is over—the melody, phrase, rhythm, or combination that keeps playing after everything else has stopped. Commercial music depends on that recall. A great hook arrives clearly, earns repetition, and returns often enough to become familiar without wearing out its welcome. Every chorus, musical turn, vocal choice, and repetition should strengthen it until the listener knows what’s coming and wants it anyway. That’s the payoff: when hearing it once isn’t enough, and hitting play again feels almost automatic.

Jessie King
Fight or Flight
Jessie Has his hand on the beat of emotional drawn energy. A master of the quick rise and and slow fall in lyrics and tempo. What a great first song for Hitmaker!
Megan Lilly
Pretty Black Soul
Megan is over the top professional using the perfect song structure and foward driving words that dive straight into perfect hook driven transitions. Superstar at work!
Marcus Holman
You Are the Answer
We actually cried the first 2 times through this sheet of lyrics. It took so long to listen to this mans heart. There is so much more inside that he should share.
Jake & Sierra Voss
We Might Be Meant
Writing lyrics for yourself is hard enough but for a duet inside of a pop song is a a complex multiplier of 10. But when you let go of the fear to share with the world and let the gut or the heart speak the outcome is this song.
Tracy Long
Lucky Number
I have yet to stop listening to this on my motorcycle as I jam down the road. The words she wrote are just intoxicating. I would love to here the rest of her collection.
Jordan Hess
Backseat Trouble
This one right here.... Look she aint got no issue telling anybody anything about you being a dog and putting you out on the curb. Pure genius in this short 3 minutes.
Micha Mills
After Hours
Probably my most favorite song in a few years for me. Creating the music to an amazingly structured lyrics sheet is a pleasure. This songs lyrics drip with everything amazing. Perfection.
Dan Lawrence
Another Summer Passes
The way Dan can capture a mood and then deliver that same feeling through 2 chorus's, a bridge and 2 versus without us being tired of the song is an art in and of itself. Thats a mighty task to accomplish and its done with grace.
Sarah Chen
Song for Tomorrow
All we can say is that a complex set of lyrics we presented so cleanly for us to create this songs music. The first person to actually count her beats per measure and apply that to the syllable count as well. That is a pro move.
Brianna Howard
Airplanes Get High
Nothing more can be said as Brianna now reigns supreme as the CHAMPION that returns and returns. Come on its time to take her down.
